We are pleased to share that Joseph A. Horning, President of Shorewest, REALTORS®, was named one of the 100 Most Influential Real Estate Executives by Real Estate Executive Magazine.

This recognition celebrates the service, dedication and hard work that these real estate executives put into building their companies and serving their agents and clients.
Joseph Horning is a third generation family member to lead Shorewest REALTORS®, Wisconsin’s Largest Home Seller™. While he was a sophomore at Marquette University High School, he spent his summer months as a courier, delivering files and providing maintenance at all office locations. After graduating from Marquette University in 1991 with a degree in Business Administration, he founded and managed the Information Technology Department. After several years, Joseph took over the role of Vice President and eventually was named President in 2002.
Under his leadership, the company has grown to over 970 sales professionals, 300 staff members and 23 locations throughout Wisconsin. In addition, Joseph has received numerous personal accolades including: two-time Top Leader in Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s Top Workplaces, Ranking in the top 100 of the Swanepoel Power 200 Most Powerful People in Residential Real Estate, The Business Journal’s 40 under 40 and Leading Real Estate Companies of the World President’s Service Award.
Throughout his career, Joseph has been very involved in various organizations within the field of real estate. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Leading Real Estate Companies of the World, Vice President Metro MLS, and Chairman of the MLS Policy Forum for the National Association of REALTORS®. He is also past Chairman of The Realty Alliance and an Honorary Board Member for LISC in Milwaukee. Outside of the industry, Joseph is currently on the Board of Directors of Marquette University High School (MUHS) and is Chairman of the MUHS Alumni Board. Previously, he served six years on the Pewaukee Village Board and four years on the Community Development Block Grant Board in Waukesha County. In his personal time, Joe enjoys spending time boating, gardening, and hanging out up north with his family. He is also often spotted driving the Shorewest Firetruck in numerous holiday parades and festivals in communities Shorewest, REALTORS® proudly serves.
Through 65 years and three generations of leadership, Shorewest, REALTORS® has served the housing needs of Wisconsin. From the vision of one man to the power of 1,400, Shorewest has grown to include 23 sales offices and a family of in-house relocation, mortgage, title and insurance services. In 2014, Shorewest was named the Wisconsin’s #1 Real Estate Top Workplace.
